Simonds Dominator Carbide Tipped bits are a Standall Type bit. They have a built in Chip Breaker to help channel and control saw dust to efficiently expel it from the cut. The chip breaker prevents saw dust spillage and resulting friction and heat on the saw body. One benefit of Carbide tipped saw bits is they eliminate the need for swaging to maintain side clearance over the life of the bit.
Dominator bits have the same tough, hot Forged carbon steel bit body as our industry leading steel bits. Precision forged bodies ensure a perfect fit with the Shank and Saw Pocket that cannot be matched by cast metal bit bodies. Dominator bits utilize a proprietary “wrap around” carbide tip, delivering unequaled side clearance symmetry for true, straight cuts over the life of the bit. Our proprietary carbide grade balances superior edge holding ability with resistance to chipping. Dominator Carbide Tipped saw bits mush be sharpened with a diamond abrasive wheel. Dominator bits should not be used with Super Style Shanks.
