Flat level saws are critical to improving productivity and reducing cutting deviation.
When a saw is flat and level, two important things happen:
1) The bandsaw is more stable and quiet, both out of and in the cut.
2) The beneficial properties imparted by benching the bandsaw -Tension, Back, Tire Line – are allowed to work as intended.
Bandsaws leveled on the Simonds model 944 Automatic Leveler improve: cutting accuracy, filing room safety, saw life, leveling quality and filing room productivity.
The gentle steel movement of the Simonds Automatic Leveler causes no compressive stresses and allows saws to get progressively better / more stable over time. An automatically leveled saw, free of compressive stresses, performs more predictably on today’s modern high strain bandmills than a manually hammered saw.
Our Model 944 Leveler now comes with an improved user interface and the same high quality non-contacting sensor used on our Automated Bandsaw Benching machine. This upgraded component is also available as a retrofit to older Model 944 Levelers.
